Amplifier Class of 2021 to perform at The Brewery District’s Equinox Music Festival
88Nine Amplifier, a Milwaukee artist-development program from 88Nine Radio Milwaukee (WYMS-FM), will host its first public workshop on Saturday, September 25 with guest Peter Gray, Executive Vice President and Head of Promotion at Columbia Records, the station announced Wednesday.
Gray is a fearless music industry leader with extensive experience breaking new artists and elevating the careers of musicians. Through his work, Peter has had an all-access pass to the career blueprints for many of the biggest artists on the planet, including Beyoncé, Prince, Adele and more. He delivers results amidst technological disruption and changes in consumer behavior, recruiting and retaining top industry talent and creating inspired, high-performance cultures.
In conversation with 88Nine Amplifier Program Director Chad Roper, Gray will discuss:
- Paths to success for independent artists
- The ways all artists can map their marketing spend using a model similar to major labels
- Making your way into the music industry
“We are beyond thrilled to be hosting Peter for our first public workshop of the 88Nine Amplifier program,” shared Roper. “Peter brings a wealth of experience to share with our Milwaukee music community and we hope to provide attendees, both in-person and virtually, with some tangible next steps to improve their careers and marketing prowess.”
The free workshop will be held in-person at the station’s Walker’s Point studios at 2 p.m. with capacity limited at 30 attendees and proof of vacation required. Face masks and physical distancing will also be required. The workshop will be streamed live on Radio Milwaukee and 88Nine Amplifier’s Facebook pages.
